Canadian cities start screening ‘The Mubarak’

Iranian feature movie ‘The Mubarak’ by Mohammad-Reza Emami goes on screen at Canadian cinemas.

The Canadian cinemas have started screening Iranian feature movie ‘The Mubarak’ directed by Mohammad-Reza Emami.

Have gone on screen in Vancouver, Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal since April 20, the film is a combination real and animated scenes.

Picturing Iranian popular actress Elnaz Shakerdoust and many other famous actors and actresses along with animated characters from Ferdowsi’s Masterpiece Shahnameh, ‘The Mubarak’ had also been selected for the 2016 Annecy International Animated Film Festival (June 13-22) in France.

The animation went on screen at the Montreal World Film Festival in Canada earlier in August 2016.

The blended movie tells the story of an old man whose job is narrating stories using dolls that have been made in the adaptation of the Shahnameh characters.

The old man has lived a big part of his life in these hero worlds and is concerned about a day when the black characters of Shahnameh send the world to endless darkness and misery. One day these dolls become alive and try to help the old man to ease his worries and concerns.
